Despite the unfortunate looming $42 million lawsuit from the Indian Cricket Board that may ultimately hammer the final nail in the West Indies cricket’s coffin. It is of my opinion that the West Indies team are in a position to put in the necessary work to train together and build chemistry in order to win the 50 over World Cup later this year staged in Australia and New Zealand.
They say out of the worst situations, can come good, therefore now is the time to instill discipline in the team’s work ethic and drive fear in the hearts and minds of the other cricketing nations. Let’s face it, it’s going to take a miracle to get the West Indies cricket back to winning ways that existed in the glory days of the 60’s,70’s,80,’s. But due to the fact that West Indies team boasts some of the best attacking and explosive individual players in the world in Christopher Henry Gayle, Dwayne Smith and Marlon Samuels followed up by a decent bowling attack.
The West Indies team actually have a cause to do well and show the world that they can do more than is asked of them. At the end of the day, it’s all a mind game, and the top players just need to support their captain, whoever it is. And show the world that West Indies cricket is here to stay.
