This company is about promoting sporting events in Jamaica and managing Jamaican sports men and women. Our motto “Always in front with the winning edge.”
I have learned a lot in the sporting arena and so have made it my heart’s desire to learn about this industry by developing my own company in sports management. I seek to make Front Runner Sports Management a massive tool that can assist Jamaicans and the wider Caribbean with showcasing world class sporting events.
This was a major International Badminton Championships held in Jamaica in over 20 years and it was geared to provide International Badminton players with qualifying points to the Olympics. A level four (4) qualifying event, many local Jamaicans gained valuable experience in competing against international standard players. Jamaica’s inaugural International Badminton Championships held on March 19-22, 2015 at the University of Technology where fifteen (15) countries participated, including hosts Jamaica, United States, Guatemala, Canada, Turkey, Barbados, Czech Republic, among others.
It was a great priviledge to learn and be a part of the organizing committee in the planning and promotion for this event and it was a great way for local audience to witness the higher standard that local players need to aspire towards achieving.
This was the first time Jamaica was hosting the Pan American Junior Badminton Championships, which was held at the National indoor Arena. It was an amazing experience where I was apart of the committee, largely responsible for media dissemination and promotion of the event.
One of Jamaica’s greatest badminton players Charles Pyne based in Canada started his own foundation in an effort to help develop badminton in Jamaica and rural Canada. He held the Clash of the Champions featuring Jamaica best, Bradley Graham, Garron Palmer, Gareth Henry and Charles Pyne.
This tournament was an initiative to promote a greatly coordinated tournament, that could bring a lot of excitement to the sport locally. Thumbs up. Featuring top local star Gareth Henry, it was the best tournament I was apart of, and I was invited as Front Runner Sports to assist in coordinating and promoting this event.
This was a great initiative by the University of the West Indies Physiotherapy department to raise funds for it’s administrative efforts. It was well supported. My role again was to drive traffic to the event, and even saw one of my potential clients Michael Thompson enter this event.
